[Listen] SA is running out of patience with the Zuma exit talks - Chris Vick

Negotiation between SA President Zuma and ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa have entered into yet another week.

With uncertainty, tensions and speculations gripping South Africans about what is going on, Eusebius McKaiser hosts a roundtable discussion to look at the constitutionality and legality around the Zuma exit plan.

His guests are EWN reporter Clement Manyathela, eNCA senior specialist reporter Karyn Maughan, and media strategist 'spin doctor' Chris Vick.

It's starting to have a knock-on effect in terms of international feelings about South Africa.

President Zuma and Ramaphosa are believed to be negotiating the term of Zuma's exit.

Karyn Maughan says that Ramaphosa and the ANC cannot offer Zuma immunity from prosecution because the NPA is an independent organisation. She says that many ANC members appear desperately concerned about the damaging effects of the prolonged process.

There is a level of desperation at the moment, where people are doing; saying and involving themselves in things that could be profoundly and systematically damaging to the country.

Karyn Maughan, eNCA specialist reporter

Many ANC programmes have been postponed following the postponement of the State of the Nation address last week. The ANC has called a special NEC meeting for Tuesday where it is believed they will be discussing the Zuma exit plan.

Is Ramaphosa not being defiant of the NWC? Who did he consult? If it was Ace Magashule who actually cancelled that NEC meeting we would be up in arms; the ANC would be going crazy.

Clement Manyathela , EWN Political Reporter
