[LISTEN] 947's Ravi Naidoo says no other country can mirror SA radio

947 station manager Ravi Naidoo says the medium of radio is headed towards a more integrated approach.

World Radio Day will be marked on February 13.

Naidoo speaks about how radio connects people through it's on-air personalities - an important asset that needs to be grown and developed.

He mentions 947 Breakfast Host, Anele, as one of those talents who comes from Campus radio.

With a career spanning more than 20-years in radio, Naidoo lists his highlights having started off as a radio presenter in 1997.

The aim of World Radio Day is to celebrate radio as a medium; to improve international cooperation between broadcasters; and to encourage major networks and community radio alike to promote access to information, freedom of expression and youth participation over the airwaves.
