Democratic Alliance leader Mmusi Maimane says the African National Congress (ANC) is holding the country to ransom and they cannot stand and watch it happen.
Opposition parties say they want parliament to be dissolved and early elections to be held.
Maimane says the ANC has failed to tell the people of South Africa why it wants President Jacob Zuma out of office.
We believe that whoever is elected must go get a new mandate from South Africans.— Mmusi Maimane, DA Leader
Maimane says the new government must get a new mandate different from the one the ANC got in 2014. He says from then to now, the Constitutional Court has found against parliament itself.
It's the whole ANC collectively that has been breaking the constitution of South Africa, that is why we need to take action.— Mmusi Maimane, DA Leader
