There's a very good chance Zuma could tell the ANC to get lost, says opposition

Opposition parties have urged the ANC to bring a motion of no confidence against President Jacob Zuma.

On Tuesday, the ANC confirmed that Zuma would be recalled as state leader.

But opposition parties say it's still up to Zuma to decide if he's going to step down or if he will fight on.

UDM leader Bantu Holomisa says the ANC could have gone straight to Parliament to avoid today's press conference and "PR disaster".

Meanwhile, DA chief whip John Steenhuisen says the ANC did not outline any consequences for Zuma, should he resist the recall.

Steenhuisen says chief whips in Parliament will continue to put pressure on the ANC to bring forward the motion of no confidence.

I think it was a PR disaster. The guy [Ace Magashule] could not even answer questions properly.

Zuma has done nothing wrong, according to them. Looting will continue, as they say, Aluta Continua.

The onus is on Zuma to react... He's capable of doing all sorts of of things.

Zuma is undermining their so-called decision. He's still showing them the middle finger.

This dilly-dallying and confusion of the last week must come to an end. We cant carry on in perpetuity.

John Steenhuisen, DA's Chief Whip in Parliament

There's a very good chance, much to his usual style, that Zuma could tell the ANC to get lost.

There's only one institution that can remove a president. That's Parliament. It's time to cut to the chase and let Parliament remove Zuma.
