Spokesperson for the Western Cape Education Department, Paddy Attwell, says as of February 14, about 4 115 Western Cape students still need to be placed in schools.
He says the province has seen an increase in a number of learners coming into the Western Cape from other provinces in the country.

Attwell says catch up plans are being put in place to help these students to catch up with what they could've missed of the curriculum.
