Mayco member for safety and security, Alderman JP Smith says the City of Cape Town is still actively making arrangements in anticipation of a possible Day Zero.
He said part of this was getting the foreign consulates to understand their role in the matter as well.
Smith says the consulates he has met with are very understanding and they are taking all kinds of measures to save water.
According to Smith, the final decision on whether Day Zero will be averted will be made by the end of March.
We still have to make a lot of arrangements and many of those things can't be done at a last moment.— Alderman JP Smith, Mayoral committee member of safety and security for the City of Cape Town
