'Deputy ministers roles are not well defined'

With a Cabinet reshuffle on the cards, political analyst Dumisani Hlophe says there is a lot of fat that can be trimmed.

Hlophe says a reshuffle can be expected after Wednesday because there are too many things currently happening.

I'm not so sure what is the role of deputies in this establishment. I don't think their roles and responsibilities are well defined.

Dumisani Hlophe, Political Analyst at Unisa School of Governance

Hlophe says the issues of a bloated Cabinet can be handled by cancelling some ministries and joining others. He says that every department should have a budget that will cater to the issues of women in the country.

I am not convinced that you need a specific ministry to look into the issue of women.

Dumisani Hlophe, Political Analyst at Unisa School of Governance

Listen to which departments Hlophe says should be cancelled or merged, and the latest from the Parliamentary post Sona debate from EWN reporter **Gaye Davis:**
