[LISTEN] Members were redeployed, they didn't resign- EFF

The EFF has responded to claims it's facing an internal revolt, saying such suggestions are untrue. It's after political journalist Gareth van Onselen alluded to problems within the party in a recent opinion piece.
Van Onselen claimed 19 EFF MPs have either resigned or been expelled from the party.

The media does not properly scrutinize these numbers and we don't know what the proper reasons are because the The EFF enjoys some kind of immunity and there seems to be a wide range of them.

The consequences of all of them are that either the party is suffering a massive skills deficit or there is some ultra authoritarian discipline regime in the party.

But the EFF's whip Hlengiwe Mkhaliphi has refuted van Onselen's claims and maintains the party simply redeployed some members to other structures.

Mkhaliphi says in 2014 the EFF went to parliament with an interim structure and had to redeploy members after their elective conference.

After the conference, there were four members of parliament who started to misbehave because they didn't accept the outcome of the conference. Three of them were expelled and one was asked to resign because the relationship between him and the EFF was not going to be healthy.

Listen to van Onselen share statistics to support his view and the explanation from Mkhaliphi.
