The EFF is warning the ANC not to renege on its promise to implement land expropriation without compensation.
The opposition party is planning to table a motion on the issue on Tuesday.
The ANC has a history of being hypocritical, saying things they do not mean just to the gain the interest and the trust of the people.— Veronica Mente, EFF MP
Speaking to Bongani Bingwa, Mente says the motion is a way of telling voters that the ANC is doing what the EFF has been directing them to do.
The EFF is seeking to have current legislation amended.
In order to be passed, a two thirds majority in Parliament is needed.
Mente says they have suggested an adhoc committee look at Section 25 which deals with the property clause.
If ANC and the 6% of the EFF combined to agree the property clause being amended, then the expropriation of land without compensation will be allowed.— Veronica Mente, EFF MP and Whip
