Mancoba Ministry taught education without super natural powers is useless

The leaders of the Mancoba Seven Angels Ministry at Ngcobo in the Eastern Cape have spoken up following a brazen attack last week where a group of men stormed a police station killing five officers and a retired soldier.

Banele Mancoba has told Daily Dispatch reporter, Malibingwe Dayimani, his brother was involved in the shooting of five police officers at Ngcobo Police Station last Wednesday.

We have spoken to Banele Mancobo, he is one of the first brothers of Mancoba. The church was founded by Mr Siphiwe Mancoba who died in 2015. These 7 brothers, they call themselves the 7 angels and that is the name of the church, Seven Angels Ministries.

He is one of the four surviving brothers of the shootout which ensued at the church, and one of his brothers, Thandazile, who he claims is behind the massacre of police eNgcobo.

He said that they do not encourage education at this church. Banele confirmed to me he was in Grade 1 in 1995 when his father removed him from school, saying that education without super natural powers is useless.

The government has declared the church a cult, it is said to be disbanded. Currently the 50 women are at a place of safety here at eNgcobo. It is not clear whether there were any sexual violations.
