Ability activist launches campaign for children living with disabilities

Chaeli Mycroft, South African ability activist, has launched a new campaign Bet Chaeli Can't. The idea behind the fundraising initiative is to prove just how capable people living with disabilities really are, while at the same time raising funds for children living with disabilities in South Africa.

Chaeli plans to straddle a horse for 5 days in a row, for 5 hours each day. For someone with cerebral palsy this is no easy feat.

It's the whole idea of focusing on ability and raising funds through this very grueling adventure.

Zelda Mycroft, CEO of the Chaeli Campaign

Chaeli calls herself an ability activist not a disability activist... children with disabilities need to live, need to be seen, their voices need to be heard and they need to have fun.

Zelda Mycroft, CEO of the Chaeli Campaign

Funds raised throughout the campaign will go to the Chaeli Cottage pre-school where children with disabilities who've been denied access elsewhere are able to attend the same learning institution as their able-bodied friends and families.

The campaign starts on the 19 Marchand runs for the entire week at Meerendal wine estate. All the details can be found at www.betchaelicant.co.za
