The South African Community Party (SACP) says it has been consulted over President Cyril Ramaphosa's newly announced cabinet.

Ramaphosa announced the cabinet changes late on Monday evening.

Speaking to Karima Brown on Monday evening SACP first general-secretary Solly Mapaila said they told Ramaphosa to deal decisively with those implicated in State Capture.

We have had constructive discussions with the president.

We had raised to him that we think it is important that he must deal a decisive blow to the parasitic networks that have captured our state and were running parallel state system. That if he does not deal with that he will not be able to fulfill the mandate of the ANC and even his own state of the nation address will be hollow.

We have insisted that we need people of high integrity to occupy positions in cabinet, we need people who will not sell out the country.
