[LISTEN] Caller Sue: 'We don't want to remain blinkered to our white privilege'
The debate on land distribution without compensation rages on. During an open line on The Eusebius McKaiser Show, a caller Sue, from Somerset West in Cape Town called in with a heartfelt view.
I just wanted to phone in..as a fairly young white person...and say not all white people are opposed to this [land distribution without compensation]Sue, caller, Somerset West
She says there are white people are admitting they are privileged.
And we don't want to remain blinkered to that.Sue, caller, Somerset West
She talked about the difficulty white people who acknowledge their privileged have when trying to convince people they want to do the right thing.
Speaking of the shame she bears as a white person, Sue got tearful, stating that this shame is nothing in comparison to the plight black South Africans had to endure for generations.
