It’s not too late to improve your finances for 2018

If you’re still struggling to recover from Christmas spending, take some advice from a certified financial planner who says it’s not too late to turn your fortunes around.

Kirsty Scully from Core Wealth says there are a number of things you can do to improve your financial forecast for the rest of 2018.

It's important to just pick a few changes that are right for you and your family, and then put them into place. Don’t try and change everything, because you will give up very quickly.

Kirsty Scully, Certified Financial Planner, Core Wealth

Scully says it’s important to identify areas where you are able to cut back.

Ask yourself the following question - Is this really necessary for our family. If we cut it out, how much will we actually suffer?

Speaking to Sara-Jayne King on Late Nights, Scully says things like magazine subscriptions, DSTV and eating out should be considered luxuries.
