#UniteBehind invite Ramaphosa to take a train and understand commuter's pain

Lobby Group #UniteBehind has written to President Cyril Ramaphosa about the dire state of the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa).

Organiser and activist Zukiswa Vuka says they have written to the President about a number of issues including state capture, maladministration at Prasa, rolling stock deficiencies, as well as to tell him they are pleased with the appointment of the new transport minister.

Last week we requested a meeting with the new minister of transport, Blade Nzimande. He has noted the acknowledgment but he hasn't responded to tell us whether we will be meeting or not.

Zukiswa Vuka, Organiser and activist for Unite Behind

They haven't had any response from the President but only received an acknowledgment of the letter.

Vuka says they are planning a march soon to bring to light the rail issues and challenges faced by commuters daily in Cape Town.

We know that the President has been taking walks around Cape Town but we would like to invite him to take a train for him to understand and know what we are talking about.
