Cold front heading for Gauteng and expected to pass over most of SA

A cold front is expected to hit Gauteng, says Vanetia Phakula, a forecaster at South African Weather Services.

Speaking to Ray White on The Midday Report, Phakula said not much rain is expected in Cape Town after sparse showers due to the cold front that passed through.

She adds that the cold front is expected to pass through the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu Natal and will bring most of the rain there.

It might even extend to Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga.

Vanetia Phakula, forecaster

We expect the cold front to pass over most parts of the country especially the interior tomorrow and will exit the country by Saturday. As it does that we have a push of this cold air that is coming in and it will drop temperatures over the interior including Gauteng significantly.
