Low risk of humans catching bird flu (but keep away regardless), says avian vet
Cape Town officials have sent out a warning to the public against Avian Flu at Boulders Beach.
Although the flu has low risk to humans it can still spread to domestic poultry.
MEC for Economic Opportunities in the Western Cape Alan Winde says officials are monitoring the situation.
Meanwhile, avian vet Dr Deon de Beer says human should limit their contact with birds as a safety precaution.
Dr de Beer explains that it is crucial for authorities to confine the outbreak as much as possible, to avoid spreading.
