When comedian Trevor Noah announced that he was returning to South Africa this week, he wanted to make quite sure that we realised it was no joke.
He posted this on his Facebook page on Sunday - which just so happened to be April Fools' Day.
The Daily Show host is back in his hometown of Johannesburg to record a new series of his 'Nationwild' comedy showcase.
Featuring some of SA best and up-and-coming comedians filming began on Wednesday night at the Lyrica Theatre at Gold Reef City.
Among those set to appear, Bongani Dube, Lindy Johnson and Phil de Lange.
Late Nights host Sara-Jayne King caught up with de Lange ahead of his trip to Joburg.
I got a call last week and the guy said, listen Trevor Noah's coming to South Africa next week and you have been selected.— Phil de Lange, comedian
The idea is that he, as a very well-known comedian, or a very big brand, would then give a platform to some promising artists and promising comedians.— Phil de Lange, comedian
The second of two live recordings take places 5 April at the Lyric Theatre, Gold Reef City.
Tickets for the shows are available at Computicket.
