Executive director of the Trevor Noah Foundation, Shalane Yuen says because there are a number of organisations in South Africa with similar goals, their aim is not to compete but work with them to achieve more.
Our launch was attended by various organisations in the educational ecosystem, as well as youth development. We want to work with organisations that have been in the space for a very long time.
— Shalane Yuen, Executive director of the Trevor Noah Foundation
Yuen says the foundation's vision stems from Trevor's background, life and experiences of South Africa.
The entire foundation does come from his stories, background, experiences.... The kids that we want to work with are those who may not be as fortunate as Trevor was in terms of having a good education and a role model.
— Shalane Yuen, Executive director of the Trevor Noah Foundation
