Brazil’s Supreme Court early has rejected former president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s bid to appeal a corruption conviction in a vote will most likely end his political career.
Brazil's most popular politician was convicted of corruption last year and may begin serving his 12-year sentence for accepting bribes within the next week.
The pivotal vote was cast by Justice Rosa Weber against Lula’s request to avoid jail.
