De Lille refutes claims she'll challenge DA's 'recall clause'

Mayor of Cape Town Patricia de Lille has accused the media of 'getting it all wrong' after reporting that she will be approaching the courts over the "Recall Clause" approved by the DA's federal congress over the weekend.

The Recall Clause states that where members who hold executive positions are deemed 'incompetent' they can be forced to resign.

It is also no secret that there are certain individuals who would like to get rid of me and this new clause could certainly be applied in that manner at a later stage.

De Lille says her only focus at the moment is to clear her name. She says the DA has tarnished her reputation with 'untested allegations'.
