It is hard to change your mind

You might want to think you are a rational and logical person that can adapt your thinking and behaviour based on the information you receive. Watch this engineer demonstrate that even though he knows that the bicycle he is trying to ride has handlebars that work opposite to the wheel, he can't get his brain to change the way it reacts. It takes him 8 months to learn to ride like this, or rather it takes that long to unlearn what his brain thought was true. Guess what happens when he gets back onto a normal bicycle.

It is no fun being a chicken or a chicken farmer.

KFC can't be happy with the recent video clips posted of its staff first washing chicken on the floor and now appearing to sharpen a knife on the pavement. Comedian John Oliver casts his critical and satirical eye on chicken farming in the US and reports that it is not only the 160 million chickens slaughtered every week that get treated badly, but the farmers have reason to feel badly treated too.

Chickens are not known for their intelligence or affection, but maybe this chicken is special. It appears to give the young boy a hug, but only after supposedly confirming it was him, as he had just returned from a haircut.

David Letterman says good bye to late nights

David Letterman has been hosting a late night TV show for 33 years. His last show aired on 20 May. Jimmy Kimmel on his show went so far as to screen a re-run for his show and told listeners to watch the final episode. It may sound strange but Kimmel credits Letterman with inspiring him to become a talk show host himself.

Changes to how and where people watch television might mark this as the last host to retire from such a long running show.
