Condolences continue to pour in for fallen struggle veteran Zola Skweyiya.
Former Gauteng premier Mbhazima Shilowa says Skweyiya was one of the pioneers of the ANC's constitutional principles.
He was part of the team that negotiated the Codesa agreement as well as the final Constitution.— Mbhazima Shilowa, Former Gauteng premier
Skweyiya died in hospital on Wednesday following a short illness. He was one of the first combatants to join Mkhonto We Sizwe in the struggle against apartheid.
He would be happy that we were able to put together a democratic South Africa, a new Constitution, and deal with some issues like poverty and inequality. He would also not have been happy about some governance issues relating to corruption and other issues.— Mbhazima Shilowa, Former Gauteng premier
