Motor journalist Ciro De Siena has shared the top three fuel-efficient, budget friendly cars in South Africa, rated by Cars.co.za.

He says these vehicles are priced under R300 000 and travel at 3.6 litres of fuel per 100 kilomtres on the road.

  • Ford Fiesta 1.5 TDCi priced from R247 900 or 1.5 TDCi Trend for R254 900
  • Renault Captur 66 kW dCi Dynamique priced from R289 900 or Sunset edition from R292 400
  • Fiat Tipo 1.3 Multijet Easy priced at R274 900

It usually means that you are looking at small hatchbacks and SUVs.
