The Deputy Secretary General of the ANC Youth League (ANCYL) Thandi Moraka has added her name to the list of voices calling for the resignation of the ANCYL president Collen Maine.
If follows Maine's made shocking confession about his prior involvement with the Gupta family during a memorial service for struggle stalwart Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.
EWN reporter Clement Manyathela says Moraka is responding to the utterances made by Maine about Supra Mahumapelo and his visits to the Gupta brothers.
She is saying Collen Maine must resign with immediate effect, she's calling him a liar. She says Maine wants to be a minister and that is why he is playing into the gallery and trying to act like a victim and implicating other people.— Clement Manyathela, EWN reporter
This is quite interesting because they are accusing Collen Maine of having apologised to Cyril Ramaphosa, that the ANCYL supported Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and apparently Maine told Ramaphosa that they shouldn't have supported her.— Clement Manyathela, EWN reporter
Meanwhile, all eyes will be Economic Freedom Fighter commander in chief Julius Malema this weekend to see whether he uses Mama Winnie's funeral on Saturday as an opportunity to attack the ANC.
Malema will be one of the speakers at the funeral at Orlando Stadium in Soweto.
