The North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo faces questions about how state-owned company Denel allegedly paid for his son's expenses at an aviation school that was not even accredited by Denel.
The City Press yesterday said the contract for the bursary worth R1.1 million was signed by Denel's CEO's Zwelakhe Ntshepe, who was previously linked to the Guptas, as has been the case with the North West Premier himself.
Public Enterprises Minister, Pravin Gordhan has now ordered an investigation into the matter.
Speaking to Thembekile Mrototo on The Midday Report, EWN reporter Masechaba Sefularo reported that the Premier's spokesperson, Brian Setwambung said he cannot respond to the questions around the reports on Denel.
No one in the ANC was available for comment, she adds.
