Former Eskom CEO Brian Molefe has lost his bid to appeal the court decision that the pension payout he received from the utility was unlawful and that he must pay back the money.
This comes after, a full bench handed the scathing ruling down in January, which found disturbing the complete lack of shame and dignity by people in leadership positions who abuse public funds.
Speaking to Thembekile Mrototo on The Midday Report, Financial Mail Deputy Editor Sikhonathi Mantshantsha said he was not surprised by the ruling.
Anyone who has been observing Molefe's conduct, and indeed all of Eskom in the past five years, shouldn't be surprised by this. A full bench of the court, found his reinstatement and payment as being unlawful.— Sikhonathi Mantshantsha, Financial Mail Deputy Editor
He said a full bench of the High Court in Pretoria said Molefe stands no chance even if he appeals.
