Breakfast show host Bongani Bingwa says the announcement by rights group Afro-forum that it will seek a private prosecution against EFF leader Julius Malema has raised a number of questions.
Bingwa questions whether AFriForum is not just shaking the tree to get the NPA to do its job as in the case of Duduzane Zuma?
Bingwa argues that the heart of the issue is the idea that the NPA is meant to prosecute without fear or favour - but have failed to do so.
The case fizzled out because someone was sick and couldn't come to court. That's it. You ought to try that sometime when you have legal battles. Get a sick note and see if that will work.— Bongani Bingwa, Breakfast show host
There are many who benefited from the Arms Deal. We will never really be sure. But we know at least about Jacob Zuma. He has a case to answer regardless of the politics. It would appear that here too, Malema must explain himself, regardless of the Kallie Kriel and his friends' obvious lack of struggle credentials.— Bongani Bingwa, Breakfast show host
