South Africa is the 3rd most miserable country in the world – Bloomberg

South Africa is the third most miserable country in the world, according to Bloomberg survey data that make up its 2015 Misery Index.

The index uses the unemployment rate and inflation rate to quantify “misery”.

South Africa has an unemployment rate of 24.3 percent and an inflation rate of 4.5 percent, according to Statistics South Africa.

The most miserable place on Earth, using this metric, is Venezuela followed by Argentina.

The least miserable country on Earth is Thailand followed by Switzerland, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.
