Open Line: Callers react to De Lille's vote of no confidence

Following Wednesday night's successful vote of no confidence by the Democratic Alliance (DA) caucus, different callers and Western Cape DA leader, Bonginkosi Madikizela on the Eusebius McKaiser Show reacted to the decision.

Madikizela said the decision that was taken by the caucus was a political one and the reasons by the caucus is that the mayor has conducted herself publicly in a manner that seems to suggest that she is no longer a member of the DA.

She has been slating the leadership of the DA , she has been slating the DA publicly. And because of, amongst other reasons, they have lost confidence in her as their leader.

Mike, a caller said De Lille was accused of trying to take a bribe and she chose to put it in the public domain instead of keeping it inside the party.

She was also accused of tarting up her house with municipal funds, she has never adequately addressed that. Maybe the onus is on her to give detail and just say, 'I didn't do it'.

Dumi another caller, said the reason why the DA or Madikizela didn't give adequate answers was because there weren't any.

They knew that the corruption charges are going to take a very long time to happen.
