In the 80s beauty spots were a trend and, with the likes of Cindy Crawford in the limelight, everyone wanted to have one. Now in 2015 it seems those trends are back with the spotlight on freckles.
Freckles are now becoming a fashion statement after they made appearances on spring runways. Those who don’t naturally have freckles draw them on in the same way beauty spots were drawn on in the 80s.
Freckles are small dots of melanin, the pigment that causes skin to darken in the sun.
In this week’s feature, Style and Design correspondent Bianca Resnekov told CapeTalk presenter Pippa Hudson about the fashion week in Paris, where the models walked the runway with drawn freckles to give them a more natural and youthful look. She calls it a "micro trend".
Those who have freckles are encouraged not to hide them but to enhance and flaunt them.
