Neilson says that city manager Lungelo Mbandazayo has confirmed that De Lille no longer holds any authority.

According to Neilson, De Lille has now left the building and has had her transport services and VIP protections services stripped away.

He advises that there will not be any staff changes or purges while he is acting mayor.

Meanwhile, a defiant De Lille has on Wednesday been addressing a spatial transformation event in Cape Town as mayor.
