Does Tshwane's chief of staff have qualifications or not?

Mayor of the City of Tshwane, Solly Msimang, has denied any underhand involvement in the recruitment of his chief of staff Marietha Aucamp.

It emerged on Wednesday that Aucamp has been put on special leave following allegations that she may have misrepresented her qualifications.

Speaking to Bongani Bingwa on the on the Breakfast Show, Msimang says Aucamp first came in on a temporary basis and then applied when they advertised the post.

He went on to say if that if he manipulated the interview process, he would be prepared to resign.

One of the things I never get involved with is the HR processes.

Msimang explained the process taken by human resources in appointing Ms Aucamp.

When she submitted her CV as HR confirmed, nowhere in her CV or even the application form was it mentioned of any qualification.

Msimang says the panel did not get the full CV for Aucamp.

In terms of what we received from the external body, was that there was a BTech attached to her CV.

HR is confirming to me that on her CV that they received initially and even in the form that she submitted there was no mention of a BTech.
