Cape Town firm takes top healthcare award for app

A South African company has won a prestigious international healthcare prize.

EMGuidance pipped five other finalists from across the globe to scoop the Merck Health Tech Prize in the category of Med tech & Biotech.

The company has created a free app which serves as a resource tool for medical practitioners.

I've had the great pleasure seeing the start-up journey of two doctors from Cape Town building a healthcare start-up that's now ranked as the top healthcare start-up in the emerging world.

The app services doctors across multiple territories, in helping them with emergency care protocols and support tools while they are treating patients.
