[LISTEN] AKA's mom on her biggest challenge yet...climbing Mount Kilimanjaro!
She's mom to one of the country's hottest rappers, but Lynn Forbes is proving it's not just her son AKA who's climbing to great heights.
The motivational speaker and entrepreneur is gearing up for her own epic trip to the top, when she attempts to summit Mount Kilimanjaro in July.
With the support of son Kiernan (aka AKA!) and his AKA Foundation, Lynn is joining the Trek4Mandela expedition in a bid to raise money for local organisation Caring4Girls.
Caring4Girls came along at the right time and it combines my two passions, education and children.Lynn Forbes, Trek4Mandela ambassador
Our training started in January this year, we train as a team about once a month. Our training consists of a hike and the Westcliff stairs! The first time we did two laps (once up and once down is one lap) and then apparently on 27 days to summit we'll do 27 laps!Lynn Forbes, Trek4Mandela ambassador
Lynn says she owes a lot to her son who has made the trip possible through his AKA Foundation.
My son's foundation is in making a difference within the South African youth.Lynne Forbes, Trek4Mandela ambassador
