Melissa's franchisees plan to keep the concept but re-brand stores

Eatery deli Group Melissa's has announced that it filed for insolvency on Monday with liquidator Craig Hathorn of Lynn and Hathorn Incorporated.

To find out what would be the future of Melissa's 16 franchise stores, CapeTalk's Kieno Kammies spoke to one of the franchisees to hear their plans.

Melissa's franchise owner Surine van Niekerk says they are currently concerned about the re-branding of their shops but look forward to carrying on with the concept.

When we bought into this business we bought the name Melissa's, products in the shop, the machinery and the lease which is attached to the property.
