KZN like the 'Wild, Wild West' - political killings reached all time high in May

Last month saw an increase in political violence in KwaZulu-Natal.

It has gotten worse since Nasrec. The remnants of that Nasrec conference is playing itself out.

This year alone, we're sitting at at least five ANC members killed, allegedly at the hands of their fellow ANC members.

I think both factions [of the ANC] are targeting each other, but at this stage it seems like the pro Senzo Mchunu, pro Cyril Ramaphosa camp is being targeted.

EWN reporter Ziyanda Ngcobo also says KwaZulu-Natal is the ideal province in which to test the system of democracy.

She says KZN lends itself well as an illustration of democracy in society because there is no political party that can say it is safe in the province.

Until at the last ANC conference, we've always had someone from KZN in the ANC top six.
