I am not immune from any investigation- Khomotso Phahlane
Former acting national police commissioner Khomotso Phahlane says anyone who has got evidence of wrongdoing on his part is welcome to follow court procedures.
On Thursday, the State withdrew the case of fraud and corruption against Phahlane, his wife Beauty and car dealer Durandt Snyman after their application for a postponement was denied.
Phahlane says it is not a victory.
It does not mean the charges cannot be reinstated at any point. There is room for such and I will welcome a process which culminates into a decision which would have allowed us to tender the facts before a court because it is tiring to continue to engage in the public space with people making allegations and pronouncements without substantial evidence.Khomotso Phahlane, former acting national police commissioner
It is since 2016 allegations have been made and in all instances, I have said if there are allegations against me, I am not immune from any investigation but what I have called for is that the investigation must be conducted by a competent authority without any influence from elsewhere.Khomotso Phahlane, former acting national police commissioner
I urge everyone to work with the courts, make sure they present their case and I will present myself.Khomotso Phahlane, former acting national police commissioner
