63-year-old Capetonian artist and his emotional work on oppression in CT

Weekend Breakfast host Africa Melane chats to 63-year-old Capetonian artist Kenny Alexander about the inspiration behind his works of art.

Alexander says that from a young age, he has always had an interest in art. His work includes sketches, drawing paintings and books.

I never went to art school but I always did little drawings, and would use the comic books in newspapers as my personal art book says Alexander.

Alexander says that his work describes his feelings which are influenced by the upsetting things that are happening around him.

I bring out emotion in a drawing or in a sketch.

Kenny Alexander, artist

This can be difficult to understand for some people but the moment it hits you, then your Spirit has connected to the intent that I am trying to portray says Alexander.
