Sassa vows that wage negotiations will not affect social grant payments

Union representing Sassa employees, PSA, said it will continue with a strike action if Sassa does not meet its demands.

Sassa spokesperson Paseka Letsatsi has confirmed that wage negotiations for its employees is not going to affect the payments of social grants.

This follows an announcement on Monday by union representing Sassa employees, PSA that it was going ahead with the strike because its demands were not met by the agency.

Letsatsi says the meeting that was held on Monday between Sassa and the union went very well and he his confident that payments will go as scheduled.

The payments of grants will go on as planned. However, the management has put in place contingency plans so that beneficiaries are not caught up in this quagmire.

We can safely say that after the meeting yesterday, all parties are getting closer to each other and we think by Thursday things would have been resolved.
