Cele wants Saps investigator Nkabinde reinstated - report

Eyewitness News (EWN) has revealed that Police Minister Bheki Cele has advised Ipid head Robert McBride to reverse any decision taken against now suspended principle investigator Cedrick Nkabinde.

In a letter seen by EWN, Cele urged McBride to any imminent decision taken against Nkabinde - including his recent suspension.

The minister also informed McBride that an investigation would be launched into recent allegations made against him.

Nkabinde has accused McBride of unlawful and unethical conduct.

EWN reporter Barry Bateman has more on the story.

There are two legs to this particular letter. The minister goes on to inform McBride that after considering the severity of the allegations, he has decided that the matter should be independently investigated to ensure that due processes are adhered to.

He then urges McBride to reverse any decision or imminent decision that he had taken against Nkabinde.
