'Day Zero' frenzy played a role in declining CT film industry, says producer

The City of Cape Town wants to put the Mother City back on the map as a film-friendly destination.

The film and media sector has suffered a sharp decline over the past two years.

Film locations consultant, Rudi Riek, says the negative communication about the drought and 'Day Zero' have deterred international clients from filming in Cape Town.

There's been a 30% to 40% drop over the last two years.
