Stephen Hugo lost his teeth due to gum disease a while ago. Since then Hugo hasn't been able to smile again and says he lost his confidence, resulting in him losing his job as a hotel receptionist.
He says he loved working for 5-star hotels and being in the front desk communicating with customers - but losing his teeth made his job very difficult.
I couldn't work at 5-star hotels like I used to. I started casualing and doing odd jobs like cleaning, working more in the background. I love talking, I love people and that is in me...— Stephen Hugo
In a heartwarming story of compassion, a group of water-wise Capetonians called Water Shedding Western Cape joined hands to raise funds for Hugo to help him pay for an expensive dental work to give him back his smile and his confidence back.
Stephens story is heartwarming, it's an incredible story.— Andrew, Sokolic, Water Shedding Western Cape member
We started a campaign on Friday targeting R15 000 to pay for his teeth but within days we managed to raise over R22 000.— Andrew, Sokolic, Water Shedding Western Cape member
