Judge Robert Nugent has rejected Tom Moyane's request for the Sars Inquiry to be postponed until his disciplinary hearing wraps up.

Nugent had some harsh words for Advocate Dali Mpofu, Moyane’s legal representative, calling his submission “a disgrace”.

Nugent rejected Moyane’s claim that professor Michael Katz is conflicted, calling the assertion “disingenuous”.

In the end Judge Nugent did not find a single ruling Moyane sought to be “competent in law”.

The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviewed Pauli Van Wyk, a journalist with Scorpio at Daily Maverick.

Listen to the interview in the audio below (and/or scroll down for quotes from it).

Judge Nugent made it clear that when you are the boss… your management style will be scrutinised… any evidence that you failed… you’ll be a subject of investigation…

Pauli Van Wyk, Scorpio at Daily Maverick

The commission must report to the Hawks or the President… any action must follow from there…

Pauli Van Wyk, Scorpio at Daily Maverick

Sars has no idea who is paying for Moyane… Ramaphosa is not allowing Moyane to use state resources… You cannot use state resources to fight your case against the state…

Pauli Van Wyk, Scorpio at Daily Maverick
