Rescuers in Thailand have been trying to come up with a plan on how to safely evacuate 12 boys and their coach who have been trapped in a cave for 11 days.
Professional divers managed to get to them with food and medical supplies, but what more could be done to rescue the group?
Diving expert Dawie Schlebusch says the mission to rescue the group is not an impossible one. He says they could be taught how to dive in a matter of a day.
They can teach them the basics, breathing, how to equalize under water to compensate the pressure and once they are ready they can start taking them out.— Dawie Schlebusch, Diving expert
Schlebusch says the main concern is one of them starting to panic while they are taking them out underwater.
He says they've been suggestions of using the full-on face mask instead of the normal scuba diving musk.
If they do panic, I'm quite sure they will train them and make sure they are comfortable. the biggest challenge will be once they get under water...— Dawie Schlebusch, Diving expert
