Meet dancer Nate Adriaanse

Joburg based self-taught dancer (born in Cape Town) Nate Adriaanse has been touring the world the last three years with big production house working with Showtime Australia and has starred in numerous local TV adverts.

Adriaanse, who is currently touring as one of the male leads in very popular The Greatest Love of All: The Whitney Houston Show, currently showing at Emperors Palace, says while growing up in Cape Town’s Athlone, dancing was never part of his life.

“I was all about sport. Six sometimes seven days a week. My dad was really passionate when I came to sports … sometimes too passionate,” he jokes.

“It was only until I was old enough to think for myself did I discovered being creative was who I was and what I was truly passionate about. That was when my relationship with sport drifted and before I knew it, I was completely consumed by this new found passion for dancing and being creative.”

The passionate dancer who has been travelling with the Whitney Houston show for a while says travelling with Showtime Australia and The Greatest Love of All: The Whitney Houston Show has been one of the biggest highlights of his career.

“From the ups the downs to the big beautiful theatres, to the cold, small and empty sports hall somewhere in Europe – every single moment with these talented people has been the ride of my life.”

“I’ve grown not just as a dancer, but as a man. These experiences have filled me with priceless treasures that no one could take from me. For this, I’m really honoured to be a part of the show.”
