As part of the Nelson Mandela centenary celebrations all men are invited to put politics aside and join the “100 Men March for Mandela and Sisulu, for no Violence Against Women and Children”.
This is an initiative by GCIS with an intention that professional men across all sectors mobilise in the march to combat the scourge of violence against women and children.
Mayco member for safety and security, JP Smith says the march will take place on 12 July from 12 noon to 2pm.
People can show up on the 12th and take this walk along with everybody else and show that there is a broad coalition from different parties and background and that we converge on this issue. There is no politics, that in this country we have a toxic attitude towards the rights of women and this is one area we can do murder prevention, putting a stop to domestic violence.— JP Smith, Mayco Member for Safety and Security
