UWC crowned Africa's greenest campus for the third time

The University of the Western Cape (UWC) has once again been declared Africa's Greenest Campus.

This is the third time that the Cape university has earned this title at the 7th Annual Green Campuses Conference.

UWC's Njabulo Maphumulo says the accolade is a recognition of the institution's ongoing efforts toward environmental sustainability.

Maphumulo explains that several initiatives, which include water-saving and recycling, have earned them top marks.

We were named Africa's Greenest Campus in 2012 and 2014.
