Prelim Wonderboom crash report should be available in a month: CAA

At least one person died and twenty others injured in a plane crash at Wonderboom, north of Pretoria on Tuesday.

The airplane hit the ground just two kilometres after taking off from the airport after it reportedly encountered technical problems.

Mashaba says there are still at early stages of the investigation as it happened in the past 24 hours but a preliminary report will be released in 30 days.

The investigations commences as soon as all the passengers that were on board have been removed by the emergency response from the accident site.

That is a very lengthy process but it commences at the accident site firstly examining the wreckage and that includes also interviewing the witness, engaging with air traffic controllers that were in communication with the crew controlling the aircraft, the organisation responsible for maintaining the aircraft as well as the crew, as soon as they recover.

A team of investigators were dispatched as early as yesterday, within an hour after the crash. They continued working even in the early hours of this morning, continuing with the investigation.
