Court papers reveal Gupta associate 'advised' Magashule on Vrede dairy project

Court papers have revealed how key Gupta associate Ashok Narayan served as an "advisor" to former Free State premier and current ANC secretary general Ace Magashule in the planning of the Vrede dairy project.

According to an affidavit filed by Peter Thabethe, a former head of department in the provincial Department of Agriculture, the department had identified India as a possible partner for the project in early 2012 when Mosebenzi Zwane recommended that Narayan accompany him to the country.

Investigative reporter at News24 Pieter - Louis Myburgh has more on the story.

Basically he was claiming in his affidavit that Mr Narayan was not travelling out there on his own expense. He was a paid adviser to the premier Magashule.

This is interesting for an individual [Magashule] who has vehemently denied having has any knowledge of any corrupt dealings involving the Guptas and their involvement in the dairy farm project.
